Director of Services – Fixed Term 3 years (continuation of MOE contract)

Due to the recent resignation of our director, Mana College is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced service director for our service academy for 2023-25.

We wish to recruit a multi-skilled and experienced individual to be responsible for the delivery, growth and further development of our services academy.

A background in the NZDF is desirable.

The Services Academy is a Secondary Transitions programme that fosters skills and values that enable students to take a positive role in society both in their career or future study of their choice, and in their community. The programme aims to help students stay engaged in learning and focus on gaining employability skills. It also provides a supportive environment for personal growth and development that helps students decide what their future pathway will be when they leave school. Mana College has a proud history of hosting the service academy in Porirua and providing excellent social outcomes and vocational pathways for young men and women.

The director will lead and manage the academy under the direction of the Principal, with a special focus on day to day administration of services academies operational guidelines and programme, as well as the schools policies and procedures contributing to enhancing the delivery of quality learning and teaching programmes.

The director is fully immersed in the wider life of the school. Teaching and/or defense force experience is advantageous.

Visual Arts Teacher – Permanent Fulltime

Starting term 2, 2023.

Our college is looking for a positive, passionate and collaborative teacher of visual art for Y9–13 to join our successful and forward-focused department. Ability to teach senior art is an advantage.

The candidate should be focused on student engagement and positive relationships in our multicultural school. Our teachers adopt a growth mindset and reflective practice and are supported by a team of dedicated teachers.

Are you an experienced, culturally responsive, restorative and relationships based painting teacher?

Do you put your learners at the center of the learning?

Are you a skilled painting teacher, able to facilitate creating murals and set-painting for school productions?

Are you prepared to work in a non-specialist classroom temporarily then move into a brand new purpose built arts and technology block?

English Teacher – Fixed Term 28/1/22-12/04/2024 (Maternity Cover)

Our English department seeks an innovative and inspiring teacher with a passion for teaching and learning to be a part of this rich, multicultural and forward thinking secondary school in the heart of Western Porirua.
