Property Manager

Full time, Permanent 

Mana College is a state co-educational school of approximately 500 students drawing from the areas of Western Porirua including Elsdon, Takapuwahia and Titahi Bay.  We take great pride in our buildings, grounds, gardens, and environment and have a range of projects on the go, including a Ministry extensive capital works and redevelopment of the entire school. 

The Property Manager is key to the ongoing growth and success of our College as we recognise the important role they play in leading our dedicated property team to deliver a well presented and maintained, safe and secure campus for all, as well as help develop and deliver property and facility projects that continually improve our college environment.

We are excited to offer this permanent, full-time (40 hours per week) opportunity and we are confident that we can offer the right person a diverse and rewarding role in a supportive and progressive environment. 

The job description outlines the role and requirements for the position, and we are looking for a start in November 2021.

You may already have experience working in a similar role in an education setting, or you may have property, facilities and project management skills and experience and are looking for a change where you can really make a difference in this leading role.  You will be a self-starter, enjoy working around young people, be highly organised and be committed to own this role.  You will have excellent communication and relationship management skills, a focus on safety and security, and the ability to manage and stay on top of work at the detail level as well as contributing to the vision and future development of our college.

A full driver’s license is essential, and you will be required to undergo police vetting to be able to work in a school setting.

Service Academy Director

Full time, Fixed Term

The Services Academy is a Secondary Transitions programme that fosters skills and values that enable students to take a positive role in society both in their career or future study of their choice, and in their community. The programme aims to help students stay engaged in learning and focus on gaining employability skills. It also provides a supportive environment for personal growth and development that helps students decide what their future pathway will be when they leave school.

The director will lead and manage the academy under the direction of the Principal, with a special focus on day to day administration of services academies operational guidelines and programme, as well as the schools policies and procedures contributing to enhancing the delivery of quality learning and teaching programmes.

The director is fully immersed in the wider life of the school. Teaching and/or defence force experience is advantageous.

SENCO

Learing Area Head, Science

The Head of Science (LAH) will have the capability of building and maintaining a thriving and flourishing department which focuses on the needs of all ākonga . This role will include a focus on developing a strong local curriculum with an emphasis on place-based learning, culturally responsive pedagogy, Mātauranga Māori and developing student agency. 

The college is in a growth phase with an expanding roll and an exciting capital works programme.  A new Science and Technology building is due for completion in 2023.

We are looking for a leader who will contribute significantly to the vision, charter and potential that lies within the community and indeed the talented students who attend.

Starting date for this position is  term 1, 2022
